Celebs’ Dramatic Weight Loss Journeys Spark Ozempic Speculations

More celebrities are rumored to be taking the weight loss drug Ozempic after exhibiting dramatic physical transformations. Singer Lizzo, for instance, tweeted images of her slimmer physique on social media, prompting accusations of hypocrisy from a woman who has previously touted “body positivity.” Other celebrities to post pictures of trimmed down bodies include Christina Aguilera, Nicole Kidman, and rapper Ice Spice.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Adam Rubinstein told reporters that Ozempic has “gained popularity because it works,” adding that celebrities are in the image business and under enormous pressure to “stay in good shape.” Questioned about Lizzo’s latest image, however, Dr. Rubinstein said he was unconvinced. He said there was “no reason” she wouldn’t use the drug but he didn’t see “a tremendous difference” in her body size. In his view, he said, if she had lost weight, it was probably due to more traditional methods.

Michigan native Lizzo is well-known for her “body positivity” philosophy and insists she does not want to be thin. Therefore, new images of her apparent weight loss have angered some fans, while others have praised her for adopting a healthier approach. She published the pictures on Instagram while telling fans she is taking a year off to “protect her peace.”

The singer is facing accusations of abuse and lawsuits from former staff and earlier this year stated that she might leave the music business altogether. She claimed she was “constantly up against lies” after former members of her dance troupe accused her of abuse, including assault and sexual harassment.

Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams said Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Jefferson, behaved inappropriately toward them on numerous occasions, including sexual abuse involving bananas during a trip to Amsterdam. Court documents state that Lizzo invited participants to “take turns touching nude performers” and eat bananas protruding from female dancers’ genitals. On another occasion, it was alleged that a male security officer had his pants pulled down on stage, humiliating him.

The Detroit singer denied the allegations and described them as “sensationalized stories” from aggrieved former employees. She added that they were “just as unbelievable as they sound.”
