Fiancé Goes MISSING – Star BREAKS Silence!

Amber Portwood, star of the MTV Series Teen Mom, made an announcement on June 10. She revealed to a shocked public that her fiancé, to whom she was recently engaged, has disappeared.

The 34 year-old Portwood walked into a North Carolina police station in Bryson City to file a report on the missing Gary Wyat, who is 39 years old.

Just weeks before, Wyat had proposed marriage to Portwood. Then, the Thursday before Portwood reported him missing, he appeared for the first time on her current TV show, Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.

The Bryzon City Police Department posted an alert to social media, in which they described Wyat at a 6ft 1in tall man who weighs in at 250lbs. He has brown eyes, and is bald. He was last known to be driving a 2009 Nissan Rogue, painted gray, and sporting Indiana license plates.

In the missing persons report, Portwood disclosed that she last saw her fiancé at a hotel in North Carolina where the two were renting a room. She also added that he comes from her own hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana, so doesn’t have any substantial connection to the area from which he disappeared.

Previous media reports have seen the pair portraying themselves as deliriously happy with one another. They had a custom engagement ring created for Portwood using a family heirloom stone that was set in a new ring.

However, the couple has also been attending couples therapy where they reportedly “talk about everything.” A source close to the couple characterized the move as “proactive” and an attempt to stop problems before they start.

Portwood and Wyat met on a dating app in 2023. Wyat did not bring any children of his own to the relationship, but is reported to be “very family oriented” and is close to his parents. He is also the first contact Portwood made through a dating app that was not previously a fan of the show, which put her at ease.
