Protestors Fill The Streets In Support Of Palestine

The state of political affairs both within the domestic United States and the international world are currently unstable and ominous. Domestically, the United States middle class is still enduring the effects of rampant inflation that peaked in early 2022 at levels not witnessed in decades. The cost of groceries continue to rise, along with energy, gas, and basic essentials. Americans are paying more than ever just to be able to make basic ends meet. The average consumer continues to fall deeper and deeper into credit card debt, and the national government at large federally speaking is drowning in over thirty trillion dollars in debt. What’s worse, home prices have soared to such substantial extents that in many cases the average American family making around the median national income of seventy thousand a year simply cannot afford to purchase a home in most of the country.

Nearly half of Americans claim that the “American Dream” is dead. This is unsurprising given that the economic state of many Americans continues to decline. In what has become known as the “hourglass” effect, the amount of people considered middle class continues to shrink while the gap between the poor and the wealthy continues to grow.

Internationally, two armed conflicts have escalated on two continents in two years. In early 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. In late 2023, the Muslim terrorist group Hamas invaded Israel and murdered over 1,000 innocent civilians. Israel has defended itself and the prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that the country is committed to destroying Hamas in their entirety. Today the war continues in Gaza. Many left wing academics and young progressive college students (along with Muslim immigrants in America) have openly supported the Hamas terrorist and blatantly acted anti-Semitic. Thousands of pro-Palestine (and pro-Hamas) Muslims and others marched in Washington DC and other places worldwide in a day of protest. The future trajectory of international affairs is truly uncertain.
