Racing Icon John Hunt’s Wife and Daughter Killed in Crime

After the horrific murders of his wife Carol,61, and his daughters Louise,25, and Hannah,28, in their million-dollar detached house in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on Tuesday evening, the racing and sports communities have rallied around John Hunt.

The three ladies were reportedly bound before being shot in a targeted attack that may have involved “other weapons,” according to police sources.

Michael Owen commemorated the racing commentator, whose X tribute reached millions of listeners— Keep John Hunt in your prayers, he said, adding that he hasn’t felt such complete and absolute horror in a long time.

The heartbreaking news was relayed from the studio by BBC Breakfast presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt. The narrative is terrible, according to Ms. Munchetty. The three ladies who lost their lives in a crossbow attack in Hertfordshire are receiving tributes.

Outside the Bushey residence, reporter Aruna Lyengar saw mourners laying floral tributes. Amidst the floral arrangements that line the peaceful street where Mr. Hunt’s wife and daughters, Hannah and Louise, were discovered, condolence inscriptions such as “I wish none of this were real” adorn the tributes.

X writer and presenter Dan Walker wrote that John Hunt had his world shattered yesterday by the murders of his wife and daughters.

Zoe Ball paused her morning BBC Radio 2 show to offer her sympathies and support to John Hunt. The news has surprised and devastated everyone’s hearts. Ball added that he should know that he is in the prayers and minds of those who care about him.

In a social media message, Dominic King, the racing correspondent, expressed his sincere support for the BBC 5 Live reporter, saying that John Hunt is an expert in his field, but more than anything else, he is the finest of men. He said that in any situation, he’d be happy to lend a hand; he’s kind and giving, adding that you should count yourself lucky if you’re able to make “Hunty” your friend. Thus, the unspeakable tragedy and evil that has infiltrated his existence is difficult to fathom.

In the aftermath of John Hunt’s family’s tragic death, horse racing journalist Matt Chapman of Sky and ITV also turned to social media to rally around him. Additional pundits expressed their sympathies and asked the audience to remember the racing reporter.

In remembrance of Mr. Hunt and his family, this afternoon, there will be a minute of silence observed at Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk.
