REPORT: Illegal Alien Murderers May Have Been Gang Members

The horrifying story of the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray just got more horrifying, with reports revealing how the two men responsible for her death may have been Venezuelan gang members allowed into the country by Border Czar Kamala Harris.

Two Venezuelan nationals, Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, and Franklin Pena, 26, are currently facing capital murder charges in Houston, Texas, for the tragic killing of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray. The case has taken a darker turn as investigators suspect the two men may be members of the Tren de Aragua gang, a violent Venezuelan criminal organization that has gained a foothold in the United States due to lenient immigration policies under the Biden administration.

The two illegal aliens are accused of luring Jocelyn to a bridge in Houston after she snuck out of her home in June. There, they allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered her, leaving her body in a nearby bayou. Strangulation was determined to be the cause of death. The crime has shocked the local community and drawn attention to the dangers posed by unchecked illegal immigration and gang violence.

Martinez-Rangel and Pena both entered the U.S. through the southern border near El Paso, Texas, earlier this year. Martinez-Rangel crossed in March, and Pena followed in May, both being released into the U.S. interior despite available detention space, according to reports from the House Homeland Security Committee. Just days after his release, Pena was involved in the brutal murder of Jocelyn. Both men now face $10 million bail and detainers from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), ensuring they will remain in custody even if they meet their bond requirements.

Search warrants obtained by local news outlets have shed light on the potential ties of Martinez-Rangel and Pena to the Tren de Aragua gang. Investigators discovered social media posts and communications hinting at their involvement with the gang, which is notorious for crimes like human trafficking and violent assaults. Martinez-Rangel’s social media accounts reportedly featured symbols and emojis associated with the gang, including imagery tied to Air Jordan apparel, a brand reportedly favored by members of the group. Pena’s accounts also revealed tattoos linked to the gang, further raising concerns about their affiliations.

For the family of Jocelyn Nungaray, the revelation of gang involvement adds another layer of horror to an already devastating loss. Her mother, Alexis Nungaray, has become an outspoken advocate for justice, expressing the pain and disbelief that comes with burying her child. “We really have no business burying our kids, they’re supposed to bury us,” she said in a recent interview. Alexis also noted that confirmation of the gang ties would help clarify that her daughter was intentionally targeted by dangerous criminals.

The murder has become a flashpoint in the ongoing debate over U.S. immigration enforcement and border security. Politicians have pointed to Jocelyn’s death as a tragic example of how lax border policies can lead to deadly consequences. While her mother insists she is not politically aligned, she has voiced her support for those pushing for stricter measures to protect children from similar fates.

As the case proceeds, both Martinez-Rangel and Pena await their respective court dates in late October and early November. Investigators continue to gather evidence from the suspects’ phones and social media accounts to establish further ties to the Tren de Aragua gang, hoping to bring full justice for Jocelyn Nungaray and her grieving family.
