Trump Rally Attendees Claim Experiencing Eye Injuries After Event

Donald Trump rally attendees said they experienced unusual eye problems after an Arizona event. Six people who traveled to a Tucson venue on September 12, and were seated behind the former President, told reporters that they suffered eye pain and compromised vision almost immediately after leaving the rally. Mayra Rodriguez, for instance, told a Tucson radio journalist, “As soon as we left and we stepped outside, my eyes were burning.”

The anti-abortion activist stated that she attended a hospital emergency room where medical staff suggested that an unknown substance had been sprayed into her eyes. The following day, Rodriguez said she could barely see and that opening her eyes was painful. Nevertheless, doctors could find no cause, and the matter began to resolve itself over the succeeding days. The Trump supporter assumed she had experienced a one-off inexplicable event, possibly caused by an allergic reaction, and was prepared to forget about it until she discovered other people had the same experience.

A brother and sister duo who attended the Arizona event together came down with similar symptoms. The unnamed brother described how his eyes initially started watering and his nose running, but this steadily worsened until his “face was flushed” and his neck “felt like it was on fire.”

Another woman, who did not want to reveal her identity, described comparable symptoms. “This is horrible,” she declared.

Media reports indicate that only people sitting to the right of former President Trump were impacted, with no reports of injury among those sitting on his left. The Secret Service said it has no evidence of a plot against Mr. Trump or his supporters in the Grand Canyon State and no evidence of any unusual goings-on at the event.

Former GOP Congressional candidate Kathleen Winn said, “We hope there are no nefarious actors in this, and this is not a strategic hit.”

Mr. Trump and Vice President Harris have spent a lot of time in Arizona recently – a crucial battleground state carrying eleven electoral college votes. Polling places the two candidates neck and neck at 46% each. The Vice President spoke in Tucson on the same day as Trump.
