Undocumented Migrant Flee to US Border, Fearing Trump Win

An untold number of migrants are making their way toward the United States border, allegedly in a last-ditch attempt to reach the embattled border before the November elections, as they fear that the border would be closed by former President Trump.

A caravan including hundreds of migrants from a wide variety of nations set off from the southern border of Mexico on Sunday, making its way north. The announcement that President Biden, their enabler, will not be seeking re-election sparked immediate action by border jumpers.

In recent years, migrants attempting to cross Mexico have banded together in considerable numbers in an effort to evade gang attacks and Mexican immigration authorities. However, in southern Mexico, caravans sometimes disband because participants become weary of trekking hundreds of kilometers.

A 55-year-old Cuban immigrant named Oswaldo Reyna waited in Ciudad Hidalgo for 45 days after crossing into Mexico from Guatemala in order to join the new caravan that had been advertised on social media.

Migrant Miguel Salazar of El Salvador warned the media that he and his fellow travelers face the danger of having their border crossing permits denied.

The appointment-based parole entry into the United States using the CBP One app currently permits 1,000 migrants each day, thanks to its expansion under the Biden administration.

If Trump is elected, that program is anticipated to be terminated.

Fiscal years 2022 and 2023 both witnessed record-high encounters in the United States. There has been a steep decline of over 50% in recent months, and the White House attributes this to the additional regulations that President Biden imposed in June.

The government has been vocal in its demands for Congress to address the immigration system, which it describes as “broken,” and provide more resources. An official from the White House stated this month that although the president’s actions have yielded notable outcomes, the only long-term fix for the problems at the border, which would provide the extra funding, manpower, and authority needed to secure the border, could only be achieved through congressional action.

Speaking of the “invasion” at our southern border, Trump said at the Republican convention that he would stop it and “stop it quickly.”

At the same time, a recent survey found that the percentage of Americans who want reduced immigration levels is at a record high, not seen since 2001.
