Thai rescue diver Kengkad Bongkawong confirmed the find publicly, writing that five people had been found safe and that the search for the remaining two was continuing. Two members of the original group of seven remained unaccounted for as the extraction operation proceeded.

Their experience navigating flooded underground passages under extreme pressure gave the rescue team a meaningful advantage in locating the survivors.
